Reflection

Overall we came into this project knowing enough about User Center Design but never expected to create a working prototype that could help users find events near them based on interest, location, and the ability to import events to personal calendars while using an application.

We were following each process to create a final prototype while also taking into users' desires and goals based on research and feedback came with some challenges. At times it would be hard to start designing and feeling creative. It was also challenging initially since Figma was still a new skill to some of us. We needed to take the time to review and catch up on such skill sets by reflecting on previous experiences with other projects outside of this class. However, the biggest challenge was coming up with a unique solution to our design problem.

Within the challenges, something that would've been done differently is rethinking how long each design process would take. We would change the timeline and how work is split up to increase our efficiency in completing tasks. This would be so that we would have more time to dive deeper into each design process.

FUN is a work in progress, and we are satisfied with the overall results. But if we had more time to add or improve features, we would focus more on user engagement and finding ways to create a more inviting environment for our users. We would also like to add more features to create a better user experience in connecting with their local community. We would have also enjoyed the opportunity to conduct user research after the high-fidelity prototype.

Our biggest takeaway is being able to create a different platform, combining design solutions from other platforms while also taking each flaw and user benefit into consideration, ultimately making our solution to the problem.

Overall, team participation was outstanding. We set norms and were significantly communicative about every one of our situations. Each team member brought their skills, and we collectively worked on aspects of the project we felt more confident about taking on. It was common to see us extend a hand to help each other whenever needed. We created a safe and inclusive space, allowing each team member to share their ideas.

We are incredibly proud of the outcome of our project and how far it has come.
